Insure the Box
InsureTheBox (ITB) is one of the leading Telematics motor insurance providers in the UK. They fit ‘black boxes’ to cars of new drivers and monitor their driving practices. This personalises the insurance quote for the young driver, based on real time statistics gathered during the period of installation.
The Challenge
ITB is undergoing a platform transformation programme to enhance the customer policy and claims experiences by implementing a Guidewire solution. As a key requirement of the CBP programme, ITB is evaluating the strategy for migrating its policy and claims data from the existing inhouse platform to Guidewire. ITB considered doing the data migration in house before seeking 3rd party assistance.
The Solution
TechFINIUM was engaged in a partnership to successfully migrate the policy and claims data to Guidwire using the BITSHIFT framework, essentially a SQL based migration engine. The data volumes migrated from their legacy database to the new system totalled c. 260k (policy and claims data). There was no impact on the existing infrastructure.
The project involved 6 people from the technical team: architects, developers and migration analysts.
