SSG Selects DataWalk To Help Fight Crime In South Africa

South African security firm replaces SAS Memex and iBM i2 with DataWalk analytical software.

Wroclaw, Poland,  April 20, 2020

DataWalk, provider of the industry’s most advanced intelligence analysis software, today announced that SSG Security Solutions (“SSG Security”) will be replacing their legacy software products with DataWalk in order to protect their clients personnel and assets against criminals in South Africa.

South Africa is challenged with high crime rates, and SSG Security, one of the local leaders in the private security market, is an aggressive adopter of leading-edge technologies to solve challenging problems. SSG’s Investigations

Division has been using two popular, but aging software products: SAS Memex (as a central repository) and IBM i2 (as an investigation tool). SSG will be replacing both of those tools with the DataWalk software platform.

“DataWalk is a powerful solution that will allow us to connect all the data we need in one repository, and then run detailed investigations,” – said John Smit the Group CEO of the SSG Group. “We are often using unstructured data we receive from our clients or partners, and DataWalk will provide us the new capability to see this data in the full context of our databases.”

“SSG Security exemplifies how many organizations using older technology are looking for something better and more cutting edge,” said Pawel Wieczynski, DataWalk CEO for EMEA “Our robust, modern, collaborative software platform provides a compelling upgrade path that will enable new capabilities for these customers.”

DataWalk provides a ready-made analytical environment to which organizations can add and connect any available data – such as hospital capacity, equipment inventory, immigration data, cell phone data, and anything else – to generate analyses and recommendations for optimal deployment of resources.

This deal is supported by TechFINIUM, a strategic DataWalk Reseller in South Africa.

The implementation of DataWalk will bring operational efficiencies and cost savings for processes that are manual at the moment and will be automated. TechFINIUM the local South African partner will also deliver the migration and management dashboards to deliver an end to end solution for SSG. “This partnership is a great example of bringing people, process and technology together to deliver real business value” says Kali Bagary, TechFINIUM Chairman.

“Replacing older products – sometimes by redirecting maintenance fees into DataWalk license sales – is a great opportunity,” added Bagary.
